Summary: Build your menu in QashierHQ in three layers: tabs hold categories, and categories hold products. This article shows how to create each layer in Product Management.

Before you start
Create things in order: first the tab, then a category in that tab, then products in that category.
If your account uses Chain Shop Management, tabs and products are shared, so changes apply to all stores.

Create a tab
Log in to QashierHQ.
In the left menu, under Products & Inventory, click Product Management, then choose the store.
Click the pencil icon beside the word "Tab". The Edit Tab dialog opens.
In Number of Tabs, choose how many tabs you want (1 to 10).
Name each tab. Every tab name must be unique.
Click Confirm.
Caution: do not name a tab "Credit" unless you sell credit packages. Products in a Credit tab top up the customer's store credit instead of selling an item. See How to Create Credit Top-Up Packages in QashierHQ.

Create a category
In Product Management, select the tab you want the category in.
Click the + button beside the Category heading. The Create Category dialog opens.
Enter the category name.
Optional: pick a tile colour for the POS.
Click Confirm.

Create a product
In Product Management, select the tab, then click the category tile.
Click Add Product.
Enter the Product Name and Price. These two fields are compulsory.
Optional: fill in Barcode, SKU Number, Cost, Tax Rate, Product Image, modifiers, Track Inventory or the options under Advanced Settings.
Click Confirm.

What you should see
The product appears in the category's product list in QashierHQ, and on Qashier POS under the same tab and category once the terminal has synced.
If something goes wrong
What you see | Cause | What to do |
"This tab name is already in use" | Two tabs have the same name. | Give each tab a different name. |
An alert about creating a Credit tab | You named a tab "Credit". | Click Cancel and choose another name unless you sell credit packages. |
No Add Product button in the category | The category is a colour/size (retail) category. | Use Edit Colour/Size to add variants. |
The product is missing on the POS | The terminal has not synced. | Return to the POS home screen with the terminal online. |
