Summary: Move a category from one tab to another, or move a product from one category to another, in QashierHQ Product Management. Use this when you reorganise your menu without recreating anything.

Before you start
If your account uses Chain Shop Management, products are shared across all stores, so a move applies to every store.

Move a category to another tab
Log in to QashierHQ.
In the left menu, under Products & Inventory, click Product Management.
If you have more than one store, choose the store in the Store selector.
Select the tab that currently contains the category.
Click the category tile. A pop-up with the category's products opens.
Click the pencil icon beside the category name. The Edit Category dialog opens.
In Tab, choose the tab you want to move the category to.
Click Confirm.

Move a product to another category
In Product Management, select the tab, then click the category that contains the product.
Click the product row. The Edit Product dialog opens.
In Category, choose the new category. Each category is listed with its tab in brackets, for example "Iced Drinks (Beverages)", so you can move a product straight into a category on another tab.
Click Confirm.

What you should see
In QashierHQ, the category now appears under its new tab, and the product under its new category. Qashier POS shows the change once it has synced, so keep the terminal online.
Good to know
Combo categories and colour/size (retail) categories are not offered in the Category list, so you cannot move a product into them this way.
Products inside a colour/size category have no Category field and cannot be moved to another category. See How to Create Products with Colour and Size Variants in QashierHQ (Retail).
If something goes wrong
What you see | Cause | What to do |
"Unable to shift credits to non credits tab" or "Unable to shift credits to non credits category" | The category or product belongs to the Credit tab, which is used for store-credit top-ups. Credit items must stay in the Credit tab. | Leave the item in the Credit tab. For a product, you can choose another category that is in the Credit tab. |
"Unable to shift non-credit products to credits tab" or "Unable to shift non-credit products to credits category" | You selected the Credit tab, or a category in it, for a normal product or category. | Choose a tab or category outside the Credit tab. |
The product has no Category field | The product is in a colour/size category. | Recreate the product in the target category instead. |
