Summary: Use Stock Actions on Qashier POS to add, deduct or reset the stock of an ingredient, for example when a delivery arrives or something is thrown away. Sales deduct ingredient stock automatically; Stock Actions are for every other change.
Applies to: All markets · Qashier POS · Ingredient Management add-on (turned on from Qashier Marketplace in QashierHQ). To adjust ingredient stock with a note, update the unit cost or set low-stock alerts, use QashierHQ: How to Update Ingredient Stock and Set Low-Stock Alerts in QashierHQ.
Before you start
Ingredient Management must be turned on for your store. The Ingredients button only appears when it is on (see How to Add Features and Manage Your Plan in Qashier Marketplace (QashierHQ), or contact support).
Create the ingredient first: How to Create, Edit or Delete Ingredients on Qashier POS. To make sales deduct it automatically, assign it to products: How to Assign, Edit or Remove Product Ingredients on Qashier POS.
If the POS shows Please manage ingredients on HQ, your product catalogue is very large. Update ingredient stock in QashierHQ instead.
Chain stores: each store keeps its own ingredient stock, so make the change on the store the stock belongs to. See How Ingredient Management Works with Chain Store Management (Multi-Store).
Steps
Open the POS menu and tap Inventory Management.
Tap the Ingredients button in the row below the Inventory Management title.
Tap the ingredient. Its stock panel opens. (A short tap opens the stock panel; pressing and holding opens the edit form instead.)
Under Stock Action, tap the ▼ and choose an action from the list. The actions are explained below.
Enter the quantity in the Stock Change field. Always enter a positive number: the action decides whether it is added or deducted. For Reset To Number, enter the new total.
Tap Confirm Edit Stock.
Check the new figure in the ingredient list and the entry under Stock History.
Video guide (recorded on an older version of the screen; the Ingredients button has replaced the icon at the top right, the other steps are the same):
Stock Actions explained
The action names are shown in English in every POS language.
Action | Effect on stock | When to use it |
Stock Received (+) | Adds the quantity you enter | A delivery or purchase arrives |
Damage/Loss/Theft (-) | Deducts the quantity you enter | Ingredient spoiled, thrown away, lost or stolen |
Restock Return | Adds the quantity you enter | Stock goes back on the shelf, for example a restock or a return from a customer |
Reset To Number | Sets the stock to the number you enter | After a stock count, or to set the opening stock of a new ingredient |
Others (+) | Adds the quantity you enter | Any other increase |
Others (-) | Deducts the quantity you enter | Any other decrease |
The POS records only the action name in Stock History; there is no field for a reason. If you need to note why you adjusted the stock, make the change in QashierHQ, which has a Details (optional) field: How to Update Ingredient Stock and Set Low-Stock Alerts in QashierHQ.
What you should see
The ingredient's stock figure in the list changes straight away.
Stock History in the ingredient's panel shows the change with the action name. Sales appear there as Invoice Sale: see How Ingredient Management Works on Qashier POS (with Example).
