Summary: Create the ingredients you want to track (for example Sugar, in grams), or change or delete an existing ingredient, directly on Qashier POS.
Applies to: All markets · Qashier POS · Ingredient Management add-on (turned on from Qashier Marketplace in QashierHQ). To also record the ingredient's cost and opening stock, set a low-stock threshold or export the list, use QashierHQ: How to Add, Edit and Delete Ingredients in QashierHQ.
Before you start
Ingredient Management must be turned on for your store. The Ingredients button only appears when it is on (see How to Add Features and Manage Your Plan in Qashier Marketplace (QashierHQ), or contact support).
If the POS shows Please manage ingredients on HQ, your product catalogue is very large. Manage ingredients in QashierHQ instead.
Chain stores: ingredients are shared across all stores in the chain, and each store keeps its own stock. See How Ingredient Management Works with Chain Store Management (Multi-Store).
Create an ingredient
Open the POS menu and tap Inventory Management.
Tap the Ingredients button in the row below the Inventory Management title.
Tap Create at the top right.
Enter the Ingredient Name and the Ingredient Unit (for example gram, ml or pcs). Every stock figure and deduct ratio for this ingredient will use this unit.
Tap Confirm Create.
The ingredient appears in the list with 0 in stock. The POS create form has no cost or opening-stock field:
To set the opening stock, tap the ingredient and use Stock Action > Reset To Number or Stock Received (+): How to Update Ingredient Stock on Qashier POS (Stock Actions).
To record the cost per unit, use QashierHQ: How to Add, Edit and Delete Ingredients in QashierHQ.
Then assign the ingredient to the products that use it: How to Assign, Edit or Remove Product Ingredients on Qashier POS.
Video guide (recorded on an older version of the screen; the Ingredients button has replaced the icon at the top right, the other steps are the same):
Edit an ingredient's name or unit
Open the POS menu and tap Inventory Management.
Tap Ingredients.
Press and hold the ingredient you want to change. (A short tap opens its stock panel instead of the edit form.)
Change the Ingredient Name or Ingredient Unit.
Tap Confirm Edit.
If you change the unit (for example from kg to g), check the stock figure and the deduct ratios on your products so they match the new unit.
Video guide (older screen version; steps are the same):
Delete an ingredient
Open the POS menu and tap Inventory Management.
Tap Ingredients.
Press and hold the ingredient you want to delete.
Tap Delete.
The POS warns that the ingredient will be deleted and unassigned from all products. Check the ingredient name, then tap Yes.
The ingredient disappears from your ingredient list. If you deleted it by mistake, create it again and set its stock with a Stock Action.
