Create tabs, categories and products directly on your Qashier POS in about a minute. Your menu has three layers: Tabs contain Categories, and Categories contain Products. This article shows how to set up each layer from Manage Products.

Open Manage Products

On the POS home screen, tap the ☰ icon at the top right.
Tap Manage Products.
Enter your Terminal PIN if asked. See How to View or Change Your Terminal PIN in QashierHQ.
If a list of product types appears (stores with QashierEats, GrabFood or foodpanda), tap POS Products.

If you see "Please manage products on HQ", your catalogue is too large to edit on the POS. Create products in QashierHQ instead (How to Create Tabs, Categories and Products in QashierHQ).

The three layers

Here is an example of how you can organise a menu for your business:

Create tabs

Tap the Edit Tabs icon (the middle icon at the top left of the Manage Products screen).
Choose the Number of Tabs from the dropdown.
Type a name for each tab.
Tap Confirm.

Create a category

Tap the + icon at the top right of the Manage Products screen.
When asked "Please select what to create", tap Category.
Type the category name.
Choose the Tab Name the category belongs to.
Optional: pick a Color for the category tiles, or tick Enable quick order so tapping the category adds its first product straight to the order (see How to Enable Quick Order for a Category in Qashier POS).
Tap Confirm.

Create a product

Tap the category you want to add the product to.
Tap Add Product.
Type the Product Name and Price. These two fields are required.
Fill in any optional settings you need (see below).
Tap Confirm.

Optional product settings on the Add Product screen include:

Barcode, SKU Number and Cost.
Printer Selection and KDS Selection (which kitchen printer or KDS receives the item), and Tax Rate (shown only when your store uses more than one tax rate).
Track Inventory to keep a stock count for the product.
Allow Open Price so the cashier types the price at checkout. See How to Enable Open Price (Custom Price at Checkout) for a Product.
Member Price for a separate price for members. Member Price and Allow Open Price cannot be used together.
Mark as sold out to stop the product being sold without deleting it. It stays on the sales screen with a sold-out mark.
BCRS Eligible (Singapore only) for drinks covered by the beverage container return scheme.

What you should see

Go back to POS & Payment. Your new tab appears along the top, the category inside it, and the product as a tile inside the category, ready to sell.

If something goes wrong

Symptom	Cause	Fix
"Please manage products on HQ"	Your catalogue is too large to edit on the POS.	Use QashierHQ: How to Create Tabs, Categories and Products in QashierHQ.
You are asked for a PIN you do not know	A Terminal PIN is set on this terminal.	Look it up or change it in QashierHQ: How to View or Change Your Terminal PIN in QashierHQ.
The product does not save when you tap Confirm	Product Name or Price is empty.	Fill in both required fields.
The product shows as sold out and cannot be added to an order	Mark as sold out is ticked.	Open the product in Manage Products and untick Mark as sold out.
The product does not appear on the sales screen	The product or its category is archived.	Restore it: How to Delete or Archive a Product or Category in Qashier POS.
