Flag a product as VAT exempt or zero-rated so that its sales are counted outside your VATable sales. You can do this in QashierHQ or on Qashier POS, and for one-off customized products at checkout.
Applies to: Philippines only · QashierHQ and Qashier POS · a QashierHQ login with Product Management access, or the Terminal PIN on the POS if one is set.
Before you start
Your store's Tax Arrangement must be VAT Inclusive or VAT Exclusive. With No VAT, the VAT exempt and Zero-rated tax options are hidden. See How to Set Up GST, SST or VAT (Tax Inclusive / Exclusive) in QashierHQ.
Choose only one option per product. Ticking VAT exempt clears Zero-rated tax, and the other way round.
In QashierHQ
Log in to QashierHQ.
In the left menu, under Products & Inventory, click Product Management, then choose the store.
Select the tab, then click the category.
Click the product to edit it, or click Add Product to create a new one.
Click Advanced Settings to expand it.
Tick VAT exempt or Zero-rated tax.
Click Confirm.
On Qashier POS
On the main page, tap the menu icon (☰).
Tap Manage Products. Enter the Terminal PIN if asked.
If you see POS Products (shown when QashierEats, GrabFood or foodpanda is on), tap it.
Open the category and tap the product.
Tick VAT exempt or Zero-rated tax.
Tap Confirm.
For a one-off customized product
On the POS order page, tap the Customized Product icon.
Enter the Item Name and Price.
Tick VAT exempt or Zero-rated tax.
Tap Add Item.
What you should see
Sales of these products are counted separately as VAT Exempt Sales or Zero Rated Sales instead of VATable Sales, for example on the Z-Reading. To learn how VAT is worked out, see [PH] How VAT Is Calculated in Qashier (VATable, VAT-Exempt and Zero-Rated Sales).
