Open Price lets your staff key in a custom price for a product each time it is added to an order on Qashier POS, instead of charging the product's set price. Use it for items whose price changes from sale to sale, such as market-priced seafood or made-to-order services.
Applies to: All markets · Qashier POS and QashierHQ · Editing products on the POS may ask for the Terminal PIN.
Before you start
Open Price and Member Price cannot be used on the same product. Turning on Open Price turns off Member Price for that product.
Open Price is not available for products in Colour/Size (retail) categories. See How to Create Products with Colour and Size Variants in QashierHQ (Retail).
Open Price is not available in kiosk (self-ordering) mode. Customers who order on a kiosk are charged the product's set price.
Enable Open Price in QashierHQ
Log in to QashierHQ. In the left sidebar, open Products & Inventory and select Product Management.
Select the store, then the tab and category that hold the product. Click the product to open the Edit Product window.
Scroll down and tick Allow Open Price. If the product has Member Price turned on, QashierHQ warns you that enabling Open Price will disable Member Price. Click OK to continue.
Click Confirm to save.
Enable Open Price on Qashier POS
On the POS home screen, tap the menu button (three horizontal lines) at the top right.
Tap Manage Products.
If the POS asks for it, enter the Terminal PIN.
If you see a POS Products option, tap it. This screen appears only when QashierEats, GrabFood or foodpanda is enabled for your store. Otherwise, go straight to the next step.
Select the tab and category that hold the product.
Tap the product.
Scroll down, tick Allow Open Price, then tap Confirm to save. If Member Price is ticked for the product, ticking Allow Open Price unticks it.
Use Open Price when selling
On the POS sales screen, select the tab and category, then tap the product that has Open Price enabled.
In the product window, key in the price in the Customized Price (per item) field. For products sold by unit (weight or volume), the field is Customized Price (per unit). Leave the field blank to charge the product's normal price.
Adjust the quantity if needed, then continue with the order and payment as usual.
What you should see
The product asks for a Customized Price each time it is added to an order. The price you key in is used for that item.
If something goes wrong
Symptom | Cause | Fix |
The Customized Price field does not appear on the POS | The terminal is in kiosk (self-ordering) mode, or Open Price is not ticked for this product | Sell the item on a terminal that is not in kiosk mode. Check that Allow Open Price is ticked and saved for the product. |
Ticking Allow Open Price turned off Member Price | Open Price and Member Price cannot both be on | Choose one pricing option for the product. |
The Allow Open Price checkbox is missing in QashierHQ | The product is in a Colour/Size category | Open Price is not available for Colour/Size products. |
The POS shows Please manage products on HQ | Your store's product list is managed in QashierHQ only | Follow the QashierHQ steps above. |
