Set up the original QashierXL POS: unbox it, connect the power and cash drawer cables, turn it on, connect it to the internet, load the receipt roll and run a test print. This guide is for the original QashierXL, the full-size terminal with a built-in 80mm receipt printer.
Applies to: Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand · Qashier POS · Original QashierXL (the label on the back reads CPOS X5) · No PIN needed for the hardware steps; the test print needs the POS to be logged in.
Have a QashierXL Slim? This guide is not for that model. The QashierXL Slim is a different device: it has a 15.6-inch main screen and a 10.1-inch customer screen, it cannot take card payments on its own, so it is paired with a QashierPay terminal, and it prints through a separate printer. See [SG/MY] How to Accept Card Payments on QashierXL with a QashierPay Terminal (QashierXS) and How to Set Up the Qashier Wi-Fi Kitchen Printer (Black) with Qashier POS, or contact Qashier Support for XL Slim setup help.
You will need an internet connection to use the QashierXL POS.

Power plug
1 x receipt roll
Connect the cables
Open the panel below the small (customer) screen at the back of the terminal.
Plug the power cable into the DC 24V port.
If you use a cash drawer, plug its telephone-style (RJ11) cable into the drawer port next to it (see "Connect a cash drawer" below).
For extra hardware such as a USB printer or barcode scanner, use any of the 3 USB ports on the same connector panel at the back of the terminal (under the customer screen), to the right of the LAN port.
Turn on the QashierXL POS
Plug the power adapter into the wall socket.
Press the power button on the lower edge of the main screen (see the overview image above).
Wait for the Qashier POS login screen to appear.
Connect to the internet
Use either option:
LAN cable: plug it into the LAN port on the connector panel at the back.
Wi-Fi: on the welcome screen (before you log in), tap Connect to WiFi, choose your network and enter its password. If the POS is already logged in, tap the ☰ menu at the top right of the POS home screen, then tap Wifi.
Then log in. See How to Log in to Qashier POS.
Change or insert the receipt roll
Open the printer cover on the front of the terminal, below the main screen.
Remove any leftover paper from the old roll.
Drop in the new roll so the paper feeds from the top and comes out towards you.
Pull a few centimetres of paper out past the cutter and close the cover.
Receipt paper: 80mm-wide thermal receipt paper. The XL rolls Qashier supplies are 80mm x 60mm. Ask your local support agent where to buy rolls in your market.
Run a test print
Tap the ☰ menu icon at the top right of the POS home screen.
Tap Test in-built printer.
The built-in printer prints a sample receipt.
Sample print:
For test prints on additional printers, see How to Do a Test Print on Qashier POS (Built-in and Additional Printers).
Connect a cash drawer
Plug the drawer's telephone-style (RJ11) cable into the drawer port on the connector panel at the back of the terminal. It is the second port from the left, next to the DC 24V port.
Make a cash sale to check that the drawer opens.
For the QashierHQ setting that opens the drawer automatically on cash payments, and for drawer troubleshooting, see How to Connect a Cash Drawer to Your Qashier POS.

The cash drawer does not open | The cable is in the wrong port, or the QashierHQ setting is off | Move the cable to the drawer port (second from the left). Then follow How to Connect a Cash Drawer to Your Qashier POS. |
The POS says it is offline | The LAN cable is unplugged, or the Wi-Fi network has changed | Reseat the LAN cable, or tap ☰ > Wifi and reconnect. |
