Set up the black Qashier Wi-Fi kitchen printer so it prints order chits from your Qashier POS: check the serial number, reset the printer if needed, put it on your store Wi-Fi with a fixed IP address, then link it to the POS and choose which product tabs it prints.
Applies to: All markets · Qashier POS · black Qashier Wi-Fi kitchen printer · Terminal PIN to open Settings on the POS. For the XP80 printer in the Philippines see [PH] How to Set Up the XP80 Wi-Fi Kitchen Printer; for a LAN cable setup see How to Set Up an Additional Printer via LAN (Ethernet) Cable; for Bluetooth printers see Compatible Bluetooth Printers and How to Connect Them to Qashier POS.
Before you start
You need: your Qashier POS, the black Qashier Wi-Fi printer with a receipt roll loaded, and a phone, tablet or laptop for the printer's configuration page.
Check the printer's serial number first (printed on the label on the printer). If it starts with 21 or 22, you must reset the printer before configuring it (Part 2). If it starts with 23, 24, 25 or 26, skip the reset and go straight to Part 3. Using the wrong process can make the configuration fail.
Use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for both the POS and the printer. If your router only broadcasts 5 GHz, ask your internet provider to enable 2.4 GHz.
Connect the POS to the Wi-Fi network you will use permanently. Changing the Wi-Fi later means reconfiguring the printer.
Connect the POS directly to your main router, not through a switch or mesh router. Singapore: if Qashier supplied a TP-Link router, connect the POS to the TP-Link Wi-Fi before reading the IP address.
If you have several printers, switch the others off and configure one printer at a time.
Part 1: Get the POS IP address
On the POS home screen, tap ☰ (top right) > Wifi.
Tap the gear icon next to your connected network and note the IP address, for example 192.168.1.164.
Have your Wi-Fi password ready for Part 4.
On a non-Qashier Android tablet, the Wifi menu item is not shown; open the tablet's Android Wi-Fi settings and view the network details to see its IP address.
Part 2: Reset the printer (serial numbers 21–22 only)
Switch off the printer.
Find the Feed button on the front of the printer. Press and hold it, then switch the printer back on while still holding it.
Keep holding. The lights come on one after another, each with beeps, then flash together and go off with a final set of beeps. Wait for this sequence to finish.
When the lights have settled and you hear the final beep, release the Feed button.
Wait for the self-test slip to print. It shows the printer's factory settings, which confirms the reset worked.
Part 3: Connect to the printer's own network
Make sure the receipt roll is loaded and switch the printer on.
On your phone, tablet or laptop, turn off mobile data if it has any, then open its Wi-Fi settings.
Look for the printer's Wi-Fi network and connect to it:
Serial numbers 21–22: E250
Serial numbers 23–26: Printer Wifi
It may say "Connected, no internet". That is normal.
Open Chrome or Safari, enter 10.10.100.254 in the address bar and go.
Log in with the printer's factory username and password. This login only works while you are connected to the printer's own network. If you do not have it, contact Qashier Support. If the page lets you, change the password after setup and keep it somewhere safe.
Part 4: Put the printer on your store Wi-Fi
Go to STA Settings.
Under Network Name (SSID), click Scan at the top right and select your store's Wi-Fi network. Click OK, then Close.
Enter your Wi-Fi password. Click Show password to check it.
Under Obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP), change Enable to Disable.
Enter the address fields:
IP Address: take the POS IP address from Part 1 and replace the last number (after the final dot) with 201 for printer 1, 202 for printer 2, and so on.
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: the POS IP address with the last number replaced by 1.
DNS: 10.10.100.254 is filled in automatically. Leave it.
Double-check every field, then click Save and then Restart.
Switch the printer off and on. It prints a configuration slip showing the new network details. Keep this slip: you need the IP address in Part 5.
Field | Example (POS IP 192.168.1.164) |
IP Address, printer 1 | 192.168.1.201 |
IP Address, printer 2 | 192.168.1.202 |
Subnet Mask | 255.255.255.0 |
Gateway | 192.168.1.1 |
If the configuration slip shows the SSID as Disconnected, the Wi-Fi password was probably typed wrongly. Repeat Part 3 and Part 4 with the correct password.
Part 5: Link the printer to your Qashier POS
On the POS home screen, tap ☰ (top right) > Settings and enter your terminal PIN if asked.
Tap Printer Settings.
Tap Additional Printer 1 (printer type Wifi). The Edit Additional Printer page opens.
In Printer IP Address, type the IP address printed on the configuration slip (for example 192.168.1.201).
Tap Save. Repeat for Additional Printer 2, 3 and so on if you have more printers.
Printer not listed? The POS only lets you add Bluetooth printers itself; for a Wi-Fi printer, choosing Wifi under Add Additional Printer shows Contact us for setup assistance. Add it in QashierHQ instead: Settings (gear icon, top right) > Printer Settings > Additional Printer Settings > select your store > Add Additional Printer > Printer Type: Wifi/LAN > Printer IP Address: the IP from Part 4 > Save. Then on the POS tap POS & Payment to refresh, and the printer appears under Printer Settings.
Part 6: Choose which products the printer prints
On the POS:
Tap ☰ > Settings > Printer Settings > Additional Printer 1.
Scroll to the bottom to Product Tabs assigned to this printer for printing.
Tick the product tabs this printer should print (and Customized Product if you use it), then tap Save.
Return to the home screen, restart the printer, then tap ☰ > Test Print.
Or in QashierHQ:
Go to Settings (gear icon, top right) > Printer Settings > Receipt/Order Chit Settings and select your store.
Under Order Chit, expand Additional Printer 1, tick the product tabs and click Save.
On the POS, tap POS & Payment to refresh, go back to the home screen and restart the printer before testing.
What you should see
☰ > Test Print prints a test chit on the kitchen printer.
When a sale with items from the assigned tabs is completed, the order chit prints on this printer.
Receipt rolls: the printer takes 80 mm (width) x 60 mm (height) thermal rolls, available online or from stationery shops.
If something goes wrong
Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
Configuration slip shows SSID Disconnected | Wrong Wi-Fi password, or 5 GHz-only network | Repeat Parts 3–4 with the correct password on a 2.4 GHz network |
Cannot open 10.10.100.254 | Device not on the printer's network, or mobile data still on | Reconnect to E250 / Printer Wifi, turn mobile data off, try again |
Printer's Wi-Fi network does not appear (serial 21–22) | Printer not reset | Do Part 2, then Part 3 |
Test Print does nothing / POS says printer disconnected | IP mismatch, or POS on a different Wi-Fi | Compare Printer IP Address with the configuration slip; check ☰ > Wifi on the POS; restart printer, POS and router |
Chits print on the wrong printer | Product tabs assigned to the wrong printer | Fix the tabs in Part 6 |
Wi-Fi router or password changed | Printer still has the old details | Repeat Parts 3–5 (reset first if serial 21–22) |
