How to Redeem a Customer's Package in Qashier POS

Redeem one or more sessions from a package a customer has already bought, using the package icon on the Qashier POS sales screen. Each redemption is recorded as a transaction and printed on a receipt.

Applies to: All markets · Qashier POS · Packages (part of the Qashier Loyalty add-on).

Before you start

Redeem a package session

  1. Select POS & Payment.

  2. Tap the package icon at the top right of the POS screen.

  3. Search for the customer by phone number or name.

  4. Tap Search. The customer's packages are listed.

  5. Tap the package to redeem. If your store uses multiple-staff mode, pick the staff under Select Staff first.

  6. In the Redeem Package Name prompt, enter the quantity to redeem (the default is 1). If package expiry is switched on, the prompt also shows the Expiry Date.

  7. Add a note under Add notes (Optional) if you want one.

  8. Tap OK to complete the redemption.

Here's a step-by-step video guide:

What you should see

  • The redemption is recorded in Transaction Record with the payment method Package. Its value is the package price divided by the number of sessions, multiplied by the sessions redeemed. For example, a 3-session package sold for 55 is recorded at 18.33 per session redeemed.

  • The receipt shows the redemption and prints Package Quantity Left.

  • The customer's remaining sessions drop by the quantity redeemed. See How to Check a Customer's Package Balance in Qashier POS.

How the receipt looks:

If something goes wrong

Message or symptom

Cause

Fix

"No package for this customer."

The customer has no package with sessions left. Used-up or refunded packages are not shown

Check the customer's Redeem History in Customer Management, or sell a new package

"Insufficient quantity"

You entered more sessions than the package has left

Enter a quantity up to the remaining quota

"Package expired on" followed by a date

The package has passed its expiry date

"The package redemption could not be completed"

The package was not deducted, for example because it had insufficient quantity or was already redeemed

Any receipt already printed shows the quantity before this attempt, so its Package Quantity Left is wrong. Check the customer's balance before redeeming again

"The package redemption could not be confirmed with the server"

The POS could not confirm whether the package was deducted

Check the customer's balance before redeeming again; a receipt already printed may show the wrong Package Quantity Left

Redemptions still show after voiding the package purchase

Voiding a package purchase does not void its redemptions

Find each redemption in Transaction Record and void it separately if needed
