Summary: Give a manual percentage or fixed-amount discount on the whole bill from the POS & Payment screen in Qashier POS.

Before you start
A bill discount applies to the whole bill. To discount one item only, see How to Apply Custom Discount to an Item in Qashier POS.
If your store requires a Terminal PIN for discounts, the POS asks for it before the custom discount opens. See How to Require a Terminal PIN for Custom Discounts in Qashier POS.
Apply a custom discount to the bill
On the home screen, tap POS & Payment.
Add the items for this order to the cart. The bill discount applies to the whole bill.
Tap Add Bill Discount, just above the Pay button. The Add/View Discount panel opens. Preset discounts set up in QashierHQ also appear here.
Tap + Custom Discount. If asked, enter the Terminal PIN.
Choose the discount type: % for a percentage, or $ for a fixed amount in your store's currency.
Enter the value, for example 10 for 10%, or 5 for a fixed amount of 5.00. The field title shows the unit, such as Enter discount value (%).
Optional: type a reason in Discount Notes.
Tap Confirm, then Add & Close to add the discount to the current order.

What you should see
The button above Pay now reads Bill Discount with the discount value, and the bill total drops.
The receipt shows the discount:

If something goes wrong
What you see | Cause | What to do |
"Please add at least 1 item" | The cart is empty. | Add at least one item, then tap Add Bill Discount again. |
"To apply a discount to the total bill, please press the Back button and select the Edit Table icon instead." | You are adding items to an open table order. | Press Back, then use the Edit Table icon to discount the table's bill. |
"The discount value cannot be empty." | You tapped Confirm without a value. | Enter a value, then tap Confirm. |
"Invalid PIN." | The Terminal PIN was wrong. | Ask your manager for the Terminal PIN and try again. |
A percentage above 100 is saved as 100% | The POS caps percentage discounts at 100%. | Enter a percentage of 100 or less. |
