Summary: Give a manual percentage or fixed-amount discount on a single item in the cart in Qashier POS.
Applies to: All markets · Qashier POS · cashiers (a Terminal PIN may be required, see below).
Before you start
An item discount applies to one item line only. To discount the whole bill, see How to Apply a Custom Discount to the Whole Bill in Qashier POS.

Apply a custom discount to an item in the cart
On the home screen, tap POS & Payment.
Add the items for this order to the cart.
Tap the item you want to discount in the cart. The item panel opens.
Under Available Promotion(s) (per item), tap + Custom Discount. If asked, enter the Terminal PIN.
Choose the discount type: % for a percentage, or $ for a fixed amount in your store's currency.
Enter the value, for example 10 for 10%, or 5 for a fixed amount of 5.00.
Tap Confirm, then Save. The discount now shows on the item in the cart.
Tip: You can also discount an item as you add it. Tap the product, tap + Custom Discount under Available Promotion(s) (per item), set the discount, tap Confirm, then tap Add & Close.

What you should see
The discount shows under the item in the cart, and the item price and bill total drop.
The receipt shows the discount on that item:

If something goes wrong
What you see | Cause | What to do |
No Available Promotion(s) (per item) section and no + Custom Discount for this product | The product is excluded from discounts, or the terminal is in kiosk mode. | Custom discounts are not offered in kiosk mode. If the product should be discountable, contact Qashier support. |
"The discount value cannot be empty." | You tapped Confirm without a value. | Enter a value, then tap Confirm. |
"Invalid PIN." | The Terminal PIN was wrong. | Ask your manager for the Terminal PIN and try again. |
A percentage above 100 is saved as 100% | The POS caps percentage discounts at 100%. | Enter a percentage of 100 or less. |
