[TH] How to accept PromptPay QR payments to your own PromptPay ID (manual confirmation)

For merchants in Thailand only

Thailand merchants can accept PromptPay QR payments on Qashier POS that go straight to their own PromptPay ID. The POS builds a QR code with the sale amount already in it, the customer scans and pays with their banking app, and your staff confirm the payment by hand before the sale completes.

Applies to

  • Markets: Thailand only.

  • Product: Qashier POS. Setup is done in QashierHQ.

  • Access: QashierHQ Settings access to turn the method on.

Manual PromptPay QR vs Beam QR: which one is this?

Before you start

  • Your store must be in Thailand.

  • You need a PromptPay ID registered with your bank: a 10-digit mobile number or a 13-digit national ID number.

  • Make sure your Qashier POS is up to date.

How to turn on manual PromptPay in QashierHQ

  1. Log in to QashierHQ and open Settings.

  2. Select the store, then open the Additional Settings tab and click Payment Settings.

  3. In the Payment Settings (Manual) card, tick PromptPay.

  4. In the Enable PromptPay dialog, enter your PromptPay ID. It must be exactly 10 or 13 digits ("Number of characters: 10 or 13") with no spaces or dashes. Leave the PromptPay QR Code String field blank; the POS builds the QR from your PromptPay ID.

  5. Click Enable.

  6. Restart the Qashier POS app (or sync its settings) so the PromptPay button appears on the payment screen.

If you cannot see these settings, contact Qashier support and they can turn it on for you.

How to take a PromptPay payment on Qashier POS

  1. Add the items to the sale and tap Pay.

  2. Select PromptPay. The POS shows "Please prompt customer to pay by PromptPay".

  3. The QR code, with the amount already included, appears on the customer-facing display. If your device has no customer display, it appears on the POS payment screen; turn the screen towards the customer.

  4. The customer scans the QR code with any Thai banking app and pays. The amount cannot be edited in their app.

  5. Check that the payment has arrived in your own bank or PromptPay app: right amount, right time. A screenshot on the customer's phone alone is not proof of payment. The POS reminds you: "Warning: Please verify and confirm the payment has been approved before pressing the 'Confirm' button below."

  6. Tap Confirm to finish the sale and print the receipt.

What you should see

  • The money is in the bank account linked to your PromptPay ID, with the sale amount.

  • The sale appears in Qashier POS and QashierHQ with the payment method PromptPay.

Refunds

Because the money goes directly to your own bank account, Qashier does not hold it and cannot send it back. If you void this sale in Qashier POS, refund the customer yourself, for example by bank transfer or cash. See How to Void or Refund a Transaction in Qashier POS.
