[TH] How to Use Qashier Soundbox (Dynamic PromptPay QR)

The Qashier Soundbox in Thailand shows a PromptPay QR code for the amount you key in on its keypad and announces each successful payment out loud. This article shows you how to power it on, take a payment, void one, and check today's sales on the device.

Before you start

  1. Sign up and apply for your Soundbox: [TH] How to Sign Up for Qashier Soundbox (Standalone).

  2. Enter the Soundbox serial number in QashierHQ under Settings > Devices > Soundbox Settings: [TH] การตั้งค่าเครื่อง Soundbox (PromptPay).

  3. Connect the Soundbox to WiFi or 4G: How to connect Qashier Soundbox to WiFi or 4G (SIM card).

Power up the Soundbox

  1. Find the power button on the back of the Soundbox.

  1. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.

  1. Once the Soundbox is configured and online, the standby screen shows your store's display name (set in QashierHQ Soundbox Settings) and the PromptPay logo. The Soundbox is ready to use.

Charge the Soundbox

Plug the charging cable into the USB-C port on the side of the Soundbox.

Take a payment

  1. With the Soundbox on the standby screen, key in the amount the customer needs to pay on the keypad at the back, then press the green button to confirm.

  1. A PromptPay QR code for that amount appears on the screen. The customer scans it with their banking app and pays.

  1. When the payment is received, the Soundbox announces the amount and shows it on the screen with a check mark.

Reading the back display: the smaller digits on the left are a transaction counter, which resets each time the Soundbox is powered off. The larger digits on the right show the amount received.

Payouts

Soundbox PromptPay payments are paid out within T+1 working days. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays. For fees, refunds and payout details, see [TH] Beam QR FAQ: KYC, Refunds and Payouts (PromptPay & E-wallets).

Void a Soundbox transaction

Soundbox transactions can only be voided in QashierHQ, under Money & Finance > Transactions. See How to Void a Transaction in QashierHQ.

A voided transaction is not refunded automatically to the customer's bank account. Refund the customer directly, for example in cash or by bank transfer.

Check today's sales on the Soundbox

You can view today's sales total and your last 5 transactions on the Soundbox:

  1. On the back of the Soundbox, press F1.

  2. Today's sales balance and the last 5 transactions appear on the front screen.

  3. Press F1 or F2 to scroll down or up.

  4. After 10 seconds without a key press, the Soundbox returns to the standby screen with the PromptPay logo.

No sound when a payment comes in

Volume too low, or a temporary glitch

Turn up the volume. Power the Soundbox off and on again.

QR code does not appear, or payment not announced

Soundbox offline

Check the network indicator and reconnect. See How to connect Qashier Soundbox to WiFi or 4G (SIM card). Check Transactions in QashierHQ before asking the customer to pay again.
