Before you start
You need a QashierHQ login with Settings access. Without it, you see "You don't have permission to access Settings".
Warning: change this setting only before you open for the day. Do not change it during operations, or your reports will mix different tax arrangements.
Set your tax arrangement and rate
Log in to QashierHQ.
Click the gear icon (Settings) at the top right. On a phone, tap your profile icon, then tap Settings.
Under Store, click Basic Settings. In the Classic view, open the Store Settings tab instead.
In the Store drop-down, select the store you want to set up.
In Tax Arrangement, choose No Tax, Tax Inclusive or Tax Exclusive (named for your market, for example GST Inclusive).
An Alert reminds you to change this only before you open shop. Click Confirm. The tax arrangement is saved straight away.
If you chose Inclusive or Exclusive, enter the rate in the Rate (%) field below it (for example GST Rate (%)). Use a whole number from 0 to 100, for example 9.
Click Submit at the bottom of the page. The rate is not saved until you click Submit.
If you have more than one store, repeat these steps for each store.
The screenshots show the older QashierHQ layout. The Tax Arrangement and Rate (%) fields are the same in the current Basic Settings page.
Malaysia: products with different SST rates
If you sell items taxed at different SST rates, tick Multiple Tax Rate (shown only for stores in Malaysia), choose a Default Tax Rate, click Switch On, then click Submit. The single SST Rate (%) field is then replaced by a rate on each product. The rates you can choose are No SST, 5%, 6%, 8% and 10%. See [MY] How to Set Different SST Rates per Product (Multiple Tax Rate).
Check which SST rate applies to your goods and services with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
