Treats is Qashier's customer loyalty programme. Customers earn points on every purchase and redeem them on later visits, from their phone, with no app to install. This article explains how to turn Treats on, set how long points last, how customers earn and sign up, and how they redeem.
Applies to: Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand · QashierHQ, Qashier POS and the Treats web app · Treats. Payment-linked earning is available in Singapore and Malaysia only.
Before you start
Turn Treats on. In QashierHQ, open Customers & Marketing > Treats Loyalty. If you see I'm Interested!, click it. Our team will contact you within 3 working days to activate Treats.
Assign points to product categories, in QashierHQ (How to Set Points per Dollar for Each Category in QashierHQ) or on the POS (How to Set Up and Earn Loyalty Points in Qashier POS).
Set the points expiry (below). The default is 12 months.
Important: the points-redemption ratio is shared across all stores under the same Qashier account. If ABC Pte Ltd owns 5 outlets on Qashier POS, the ratio is the same in all 5 once Treats is on. If your outlet belongs to a brand group, points expiry is managed by the main outlet.
Set up points expiry
Log in to QashierHQ.
In the left sidebar, open Customers & Marketing > Treats Loyalty.
Click CUSTOMISE TREATS.
Under Points Expire After, choose a period from the list: 1, 3, 6, 12, 18 or 24 months, Custom or No Expiry. The default is 12 months.
Click SAVE at the bottom right. If you changed the period, a Confirm message reminds you that existing customers' expiry dates stay unchanged; click Save to apply the change.
Note: if you choose Custom, a field appears for the number of months. The maximum is 60 months.
How expiry works
The expiry clock restarts with every points-earning purchase: the expiry date moves forward by the full period from that day.
If a customer makes no points-earning purchase within the period, all their points reset to 0.
Changing the period does not change existing customers' expiry dates. The new period applies to new transactions only.
Customers see their expiry date on their Treats page, and it is highlighted when their points are about to expire. If you set No Expiry, customers see no expiry information.
How customers earn points
1. By scanning the Treats QR code
After a transaction is completed on Qashier POS, print the Treats QR code for the customer to scan:
Tap Print Receipt to print the full receipt with the Treats QR code, or
Tap Print QR (Points) to print only the Treats QR code.
To reprint later, open Transaction Record, select the transaction, tap Print and choose Full Receipt or Treats QR Code (Points).
Tap Print QR (Points) to print only the Treats QR code
Note:
QashierX2 and QashierXL (including XL Slim) also show the Treats QR code on the customer display, so customers who do not want a paper receipt can scan the screen.
On QashierXS and QashierX1, the Treats QR code is not shown on a customer display: customers scan the printed QR code.
A Treats QR code can be scanned only once. If someone else has already scanned it, the person who later picks up the receipt cannot earn the points.

2. By being added to the sale on the POS
Staff can attach the customer to the order before payment, and the points are awarded without a scan. This works the same way as standard Qashier loyalty points. See How to Set Up and Earn Loyalty Points in Qashier POS.
3. Automatically, through a linked card (Singapore and Malaysia only)
With Payment-Linked Loyalty, customers link their debit or credit card to their Treats profile once. After that, paying with the same card at your store credits the points automatically. See How Payment-Linked Loyalty Works in Treats (Singapore & Malaysia).
How customers sign up
A customer new to Treats scans the QR code and enters their mobile number to receive a one-time password (OTP). The OTP is sent by WhatsApp, SMS or Viber; the default channel depends on the country.
Customers sign up once. After that, their phone's browser remembers the login. If they clear their browser data, they log in again with a new OTP.
After entering the OTP, the customer fills in Name, Email and Date of Birth and taps Continue. Their data is handled under the Treats Privacy Policy, and marketing messages are opt-in.
A pop-up then shows the points earned from the scan.
To see points earned at other Treats merchants, the customer opens the brand drop-down at the top of their Treats page and selects the brand.
How customers redeem points
Customers redeem points at the counter on their next visit, the same way as standard Qashier loyalty points. See How to Redeem Loyalty Points in Qashier POS.
To change the points-to-redeem ratio, contact Qashier Support.
Note: customers can redeem points at the store where they earned them and at any other store under the same Qashier account. If ABC Pte Ltd has 5 stores on Qashier POS with Treats, points earned at store 3 can be redeemed at any of the 5. They cannot be redeemed at stores owned by another business.
Example
Say you set 1 point for every 1 unit of your currency spent on selected categories. Customers collect points with each purchase, and when they reach 100 points they can redeem them for a discount of 1 unit of currency at checkout.
Tip: train staff to ask customers whether they are using Treats, and to encourage those who are not to sign up.
