[SG] How to Set Up the TP-Link 4G SIM Router

The TP-Link 4G SIM router keeps your Qashier POS and Wi-Fi kitchen printer online over mobile data. Use it at pop-ups, events and sites without broadband.

Applies to: Singapore · Qashier POS · TP-Link 4G SIM router supplied by Qashier (the unit pictured is a TL-MR6400).

Before you start

  • A SIM card with an active mobile data plan from a local telco. The router's SIM slot is labelled "Nano SIM Card", so use a nano-size SIM.

  • The router, its power adapter and a power socket near where your POS will sit.

  • Your POS terminal, and any Wi-Fi kitchen printer you want to connect through the router.

Set up the router

  1. Insert the Nano SIM into the SIM slot on the back of the router (see photo below). Push it in until it clicks.

  2. Connect the router to power and switch it on. Wait about a minute for the lights to settle.

  3. Find the network name (SSID) and wireless password printed on the label on the back of the router.

  4. On the POS home screen, tap ☰ (top right) > Wifi, select the router's network name and enter the wireless password.

  5. To connect a Wi-Fi kitchen printer, use the same network name and password when you configure the printer. See How to Set Up the Qashier Wi-Fi Kitchen Printer (Black) with Qashier POS.

Usually no further setup is needed. If the POS joins the router's Wi-Fi but has no internet, you need to create an APN profile on the router. See [SG] 4G Router Connected but No Internet? Set the APN on Your TP-Link 4G Router.

What you should see

The POS Wifi page shows the router's network as connected, and the POS syncs normally (for example, product changes made in QashierHQ appear on the POS).
