Mark drinks as BCRS Eligible so that Qashier adds Singapore's SGD 0.10 Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS) deposit at checkout and tracks it separately on receipts, invoices and reports.
Applies to: Singapore only · QashierHQ, Qashier POS and QashierEats. BCRS settings only appear for Singapore accounts.
Under BCRS, a refundable deposit of SGD 0.10 applies to eligible pre-packaged beverages in plastic and metal containers that carry the BCRS Deposit Mark. See the BCRS website for the scheme's start date and full eligibility rules.
The BCRS deposit is shown separately from GST. The deposit is collected on behalf of the scheme operator and appears as its own line, labelled BCRS Deposit (Not Subject to GST) in QashierHQ and BCRS Deposit (excl GST) on the POS. Both labels mean the same thing.
Mark a product as BCRS Eligible in QashierHQ
When a product is marked BCRS Eligible, the POS adds SGD 0.10 per item automatically at checkout. You don't need to change your product prices.
Log in to QashierHQ.
In the left menu, under Products & Inventory, click Product Management, then choose the store.
Click the product you want to edit, or click Add Product.
Tick BCRS Eligible.
Click Confirm.
Modifiers: BCRS Eligible is also available on modifiers in Product Management > Modifiers.
Many products at once: BCRS Eligible is also in Bulk Action > Product Bulk Create and Product Bulk Update. The Create Products from Excel template has a BCRS Eligible? (Default FALSE) column; products you leave blank are not BCRS eligible. If an Excel upload doesn't mark products as you expected, tick BCRS Eligible for them in Product Bulk Update.
Mark a product as BCRS Eligible for online ordering (QashierEats)
In QashierHQ, in the left menu, under Sales Channels, click Online Ordering.
Select the product.
Tick BCRS Eligible.
Click Save.
foodpanda: for foodpanda products in Singapore, the product settings also show a Collect BCRS Deposit option. Contact support if you're unsure whether to use it.
Mark a product as BCRS Eligible on Qashier POS
On the main page, tap the menu icon (☰), then tap Manage Products. Enter the Terminal PIN if asked.
If you see POS Products, tap it.
Tap the product you want to edit, or tap + to add a new product.
Tick BCRS Eligible.
Tap Confirm.
BCRS Eligible is also available when you add or edit modifiers on the POS.
At checkout
The deposit is added automatically for eligible items. Each eligible item shows BCRS Eligible with the SGD 0.10 deposit, and the payment breakdown shows BCRS Deposit (excl GST).
To waive the deposit (for example, when a customer doesn't need to pay it):
On the checkout page, tap Waive BCRS Deposit.
Use + and - to choose how many containers to waive.
Tap Confirm.
Note: You can't waive more containers than the number of BCRS-eligible items in the order. If you waive them all, the BCRS deposit shows as SGD 0.00 on the receipt.
What you should see
Receipts and invoices
Printed POS receipts and invoices: a BCRS Deposit (excl GST) line with the deposit for the transaction.
E-receipt in QashierHQ (Money & Finance > Transactions) and QashierHQ invoices: a BCRS Deposit (Not Subject to GST) line.
Reports in QashierHQ
Report totals in QashierHQ exclude the BCRS deposit. The deposit is tracked separately.
Money & Finance > Full Report > BCRS Deposit tab (in the Classic view, a BCRS Deposit card below Sales Information). It shows:
Total BCRS Deposit: total deposit collected
Total BCRS Items Sold: number of BCRS-eligible items sold
Total BCRS Items Waived: number of items whose deposit was waived
Total BCRS Waived Amount: total value of waived deposits
The tab is not shown when the report type is QashierEats or a delivery platform.
Money & Finance > Transactions: a BCRS Deposit column, which is included when you export the report to Excel.
Reports on Qashier POS (Reports > Sales Information)
A BCRS Deposit section shows Total BCRS Deposit, Total BCRS Items Sold, Total BCRS Items Waived and Total BCRS Waived Amount. It is included when you print or email the report.
Common questions
Do I need to change my product prices for the SGD 0.10 deposit?
No. When a product is marked BCRS Eligible, Qashier adds the deposit at checkout. Your product prices stay the same.
Is the BCRS deposit included in my Total Sales?
No. Total Sales in QashierHQ reports excludes the BCRS deposit. It is tracked separately in the BCRS Deposit section.
Can I waive the deposit for some items but not others?
Yes. In Waive BCRS Deposit, choose the exact number of containers to waive. The other items still carry the SGD 0.10 deposit.
Which products are eligible?
Pre-packaged beverages in plastic bottles or metal cans that carry the BCRS Deposit Mark. For the size range, exclusions and the complete list, see the BCRS website.
