Updated over 6 months ago

The purpose of this article is to explain step-by-step about "How to setup additional printer (LAN Connection)." For merchant who need to setup LAN Connection additional printer, please see more details below.

Requirement

  • Windows PC

  • Supported Additional Printer (Dec 2021 onwards)

Step-by-step: How to setup additional printer (LAN Connection)

Step 1: Connect the kitchen printer to the Windows PC using a printer cable. Next, connect the same kitchen printer to the router using a LAN cable.

Step 2: Download the .exe file from this folder on the Windows PC.

Step 3: Run the .exe file as an administrator.

Step 4: Follow the settings and configurations below:

The "PrinterTest With Logo" field must be set to "Print Logo" to ensure proper setup and avoid errors during configuration.

  1. Communication interface: select the "USB" radio button and only check the "USB Printing Device" checkbox.

    1. Click on the "Interface Test" button and a small chit of paper should be printed.

  2. Parameter Setting > Operations For All Parameters: click on "Load" and the printer's settings will be automatically populated into the respective fields.

  3. Communication Parameter Setting > Set IP: Input the IPv4 address found under the POS portion, replace the last 3 digits to 201 for printer 1, 202 for printer 2, 203 for printer 3, and so on. (E.g. IPv4: 192.168.50.164, Printer 1 IP Address: 192.168.50.201, Printer 2 IP Address: 192.168.50.202)

  4. Communication Parameter Setting > Set gateway: set the last digits as .1 e.g. if the auto-populated gateway address is 192.168.123.201, change it to 192.168.123.1

  5. Communication Parameter Setting > Disconnect time: set as "N/A"

  6. Communication Parameter Setting > Connections: set as "10Clients"

Step 5: Once the above is done, click the "Set" button to save the configurations. There should be a beep sound coming from the printer.

Step 6: Under "Others", select "Restart Printer".

Note: Small slips of paper with the message "Waiting WiFI Setup..." and WiFi Configuration details will be printed out during this process.

Tip: To verify if the printer has been successfully configured, you can perform a test transaction on the POS system. This will help ensure that all settings have been properly applied and the printer is functioning correctly.

Note:

For new printers - Up to 10 POS systems can be set up to connect to an additional printer via LAN connection. Ensure that "Connections" has been set to "10Clients" from step 4 of the configuration above.

For old printers - Each POS can be connected to multiple printers via LAN (e.g. POS A can be connected to Printer 1, Printer 2, and Printer 3).

However, each printer cannot be connected to multiple POS devices i.e. Printer 1 can only be connected to POS 1.
