Introduction

Treats is a web application for customer loyalty. The customers can log in to check their points earned from various Qashier merchants and easily access their transaction history with the Qashier merchants they have purchased from.

Note: The merchant must be enrolled in Qashier Loyalty 2.0 for this feature to be available.

Feature Overview

  • Other than simply earning points, customers will be able to view their past receipts and transaction history; which includes points earned from the Qashier merchants that have enrolled in the Treats feature.

  • Customers can also edit their personal information via the web app, such as date of birth and email address.

  • Merchants can make use of the customers' data gathered (date of birth etc.) to improve customer engagement and increase customer retention, such as automated birthday emails, etc.

  • The customers can link their credit/debit cards to their Treats profile, making it a smooth and hassle-free experience of earning/claiming points whenever they make purchases at any Treats merchants' stores.

How to use?

Important: Points-redemption ratio will be shared across all the stores within the same Qashier account.

For example: your registered company ABC Pte Ltd has 5 outlets that are using QashierPOS terminals, and every outlet has different points-redemption ratio.

After Treats has been enabled for you, the points-redemption ratio will be the same for all outlets within the Qashier account for ABC Pte Ltd.

Earning/Claiming points through QR code

  • Once the transaction is complete, the customers can scan the QR code printed together with the receipt, or the QR code displayed on the customer-facing display screen on the POS. They will be redirected to the Treats web app to claim the points that can be redeemed in the future.

Note:

  • Displaying the QR code on the customer-facing display screen is available only on QashierXL and QashierX2 POS.

  • If the merchant uses a QashierX1 POS, the QR code will not be displayed on the customer-facing display screen. Instead, the customers can only scan the QR code printed together with their receipt.

  • The QR code will still be printed, regardless of the POS type (QashierX1, QashierX2 or QashierXL).

  • If the customer is new to the Treats feature, they must input their mobile number to receive an OTP to be entered on the web app, which would complete the signup process.

Note: Customers will only be required to sign up once. After successfully signing up, they do not need to login to the web app anymore as the web browser on their mobile device is capable of remembering their login.

However, if the customer clears the cache on their mobile device, they will be required to log in to Treats again via their mobile device's web browser.

  • Once the customer has successfully signed up, a pop-up window will appear, displaying the number of points they have earned from scanning the QR code.

Note: The QR code can only be scanned once. If someone else has already scanned the QR code, the person who subsequently gets hold of the receipt will not be able to use the same QR code to claim points.

  • To view the points earned from other Qashier merchants participating in the Treats feature, the customers can simply click on the drop-down list and select the brand that they'd like to check their information from.

Earning/Claiming points through POS

This works the same way as how a customer can earn points on CRM 1.0. For more information, please refer to this article.

Earning/Claiming points through payments

Through Payment Linked Loyalty, customers are now able to seamlessly earn points by tapping and paying as per normal with their linked cards at any Treats merchants' stores. The points will be automatically added to the customers' Treats profile.

❗️Important:

  • Payment Linked Loyalty only works with Treats merchants who are also using QashierPay (Visa/Mastercard Credit card payments) at the moment.

  • Only debit/credit cards are accepted currently.

  • It is unable to support any third party payment terminals or payment methods such as AMEX, and e-wallets like GrabPay, ShopeePay, DuitNow QR, etc.

Here's a video demonstration of how Treats works!

Linking cards to the customer's Treats profile

Step 1: Customer makes payment with a debit/credit card at the Treats + QashierPay merchant's store as usual.

Step 2: The customer scans the QR code printed on the receipt/front-facing display screen on the POS after they have successfully completed their payment to claim their points.

Note: If the customer does not have a Treats profile, they will be prompted to enter their mobile number to receive an OTP in order to create a Treats profile.

Step 3: After scanning the QR code, the screen on their mobile phone will show the following screen. Click "Sure" to link the card to their Treats profile.

Click "Sure" to link the card to the Treats' profile.

The card is now linked to the customer's Treats profile.

How to check the details of the card(s) linked with the Treats profile?

To check the details of the card(s) linked with the Treats profile, go to Treats webapp > Menu > Linked Payment Methods > Manage Linked Cards.

On Treats webapp, go to Menu

Under "Linked Payment Methods", click on "Manage Linked Cards"

Transaction and points history, as well as card linked will be displayed

Details such as number of transactions and points earned by the card (only the last 4 digits will be shown) will be reflected on this page.

After the cards have been linked to the customer's Treats profile

Customers can visit any Treats store that they are already a member of and make payments using the card that they have linked to their Treats profile previously.

The points would be automatically added to the customer's Treats profile; reducing the need for customers to scan the QR code or for the staff to add a customer to an order via the POS terminal.

Note:

  1. If the same customer visits another Treats merchant store (e.g. Store B) where the customer is not yet registered in Store B's CRM, the Payment Linked Loyalty will not work.

    1. In such situations, customers must scan the QR code during their initial visit to store B to register in store B's CRM. Subsequent visits will seamlessly activate Payment Linked Loyalty, crediting points to the customer's Treats profile when using the same card linked to the profile.

  2. For example: a customer makes a payment using a physical credit/debit card at a Treats + QashierPay merchant store on the first visit and links that card to their Treats profile. On the next visit to the same store, the customer made payment using the same credit card but via mobile payment services (e.g. GooglePay, ApplePay, SamsungPay, etc.).

    1. In such scenarios, the Payment Linked Loyalty would not work as the virtual card numbers provided by mobile payment services differ from the actual card numbers.

    2. The customer would need to re-register the card that was used for mobile payments into their Treats profile again in order for Payment Linked Loyalty to work as intended.

Burning/Redeeming points

Customers can redeem the points on their next visit to the store.

This works the same way as how a customer would redeem points on CRM 1.0. For more information, please refer to this article.

If you would like to change the points-to-redeem ratio, kindly reach out to our Customer Support team for assistance.

Note: Customers can redeem points from the store where they have earned the points from and from any of the stores under the same Qashier client account.

For example: your registered company ABC Pte Ltd has 5 stores which are all using QashierPOS and Treats feature (stores 1-5). Your customer has made a purchase and earned points from store 3. The points that your customer has earned from store 3 can be redeemed at any of your 5 stores.

However, the points cannot be redeemed at other stores that are not owned by ABC Pte Ltd.

Tip: Merchants can train their staff to proactively inquire with customers about their usage of the Treats web app. If customers are not using it, staff can encourage them to sign up for the Treats feature.

FAQ

Question

Answer

Do the points that customers earn have an expiration date?

No, there is no expiry to the points that the customers have earned.

Can the merchant set an expiry date for the points that the customers earned? E.g. One year from the date that the points were earned.

No, this feature is unavailable at the moment. Our team is working towards introducing this feature in our future launches.

If the merchants have multiple individual stores or stores under Chain Shop Management, can they use the Treats feature?

Yes, it is possible. We would recommend it if all stores are under the same client account.

For franchisee stores, at the moment they will not be able to use the Treats feature.

Can the customer choose how many points they wish to redeem for a transaction? If yes, what is the minimum number of points that they can redeem for a transaction?

Yes, customers have the flexibility to choose the number of points that they wish to redeem for a transaction.

By default, 100 points is equivalent to $1.00. The minimum number of points that the customer can redeem for a transaction would be 1 point ($0.01).

In what situation would the customer be required to re-login to their mobile device again?

If the customer clears the cache on their mobile device, they will need to re-login.

If the web browser on their mobile device crashes and the customer force-closes the app, they do not need to re-login.

  • However, if the customer force-closes the web browser when experiencing a slow login, they might have to re-login.

The login process is the same as when a customer signs up for the first time - they need to input their mobile number to receive an OTP to be entered on the web app.

Merchant has recently upgraded from the previous version of Loyalty Points System to Treats. What would happen to his existing customers' information (e.g. points + transaction history, etc.)?

The existing customers' information would remain, but not automatically migrated to Treats.

In order to migrate the existing customers' information to Treats, the customers would have to scan the Treats QR code to create a Treats web app profile when they make their payment at the store.

After their Treats profile has been created, all existing and new information (including points and transaction history) will be migrated successfully to Treats web app.

Are there any limits to the number of cards that can be linked to a Treats' profile?

There is no limit to the number of cards that can be linked to a Treats profile. If the customer would like to link more cards, repeat steps 1 to 3 stated here.
