How to Create and Assign Price Tiers in QashierHQ

Price tiers let you sell the same product at a different price, for example a Happy Hour or Member price, without editing the product each time. This article shows how to create a price tier in QashierHQ, set the tier price on each product, and manage your tiers afterwards. Applies to: All markets · QashierHQ Product Management · the Price Tiers feature must be enabled for your store. Prices are shown in your store currency.

Before you start

  • Price Tiers must be enabled for your store. If you do not see the Price Tier button at the top of Product Management, check Qashier Marketplace or contact Qashier Support.

  • Price tiers are set per store. If Chain Shop Management is enabled, tiers are shared across all your stores.

Create a price tier

  1. Log in to QashierHQ.

  2. In the left menu, under Products & Inventory, click Product Management.

  3. If you have more than one store, choose the store in the Store picker.

  4. Click Price Tier at the top right of the page. The Manage Price Tier window opens.

  5. Click Create Price Tier.

  6. Enter a Price Tier Name, for example "Happy Hour". Names must be unique and up to 50 characters.

  7. Leave Buffet / Tiered Menu unticked for a normal price tier. Tick it only to create a QR-ordering menu tier; see How to Set Up a Buffet / Tiered Menu (Menu Tier) for Dynamic QR Ordering.

  8. Click Confirm.

The tier appears in Manage Price Tier with its toggle switched on. You can create up to 20 price tiers per store.

Assign a price tier to a product

Create the price tier first, then set its price on each product.

  1. In Product Management, click the Tab, then the Category.

  2. Click the product. The Edit Product dialog opens.

  3. Click the Price Tier (0) button. The number shows how many tiers already have a price for this product.

  4. In the Price Tier window, find your tier. It shows - Disabled - until a price is set. Click the price field.

  5. Enter the tier price (in your store currency) and click Set. The change saves immediately and shows "Updated Price Tier!".

  6. Shortcut: click the dropdown arrow beside the tier and pick Set to 0 or Set to the normal price (the menu shows your store currency, for example "Set to RM0"). To remove the product from a tier, pick Disable.

  7. Close the Price Tier window. The button now reads Price Tier (1). Click Confirm on Edit Product only if you changed other product details.

Repeat for each product that needs a tier price. Products without a price on a tier sell at their normal price when that tier is selected.

Manage your price tiers

Open Product Management > Price Tier. In Manage Price Tier you can:

  • Switch a tier off or on with its toggle. Only switched-on tiers load on the POS. While a tier is off, you cannot edit its product prices, but the prices are kept.

  • Rename a tier with the pencil icon. The new name applies to every product that uses the tier.

  • Delete a tier with the bin icon. This also removes the tier's price from every product.

  • Reorder tiers with the up/down arrow icon: drag them into place and click Save. This order is what the cashier sees on the POS.

Tiers marked MENU are Buffet / Tiered Menu tiers and do not appear in the POS Price Tier list.

What you should see

On Qashier POS, the cashier taps Price Tier, picks the tier, and products with a tier price show a price-tag icon and ring up at the tier price. The receipt prints the tier name under the item. See How to Make a Sale Using a Price Tier on Qashier POS.

If something goes wrong

No Price Tier button on Product Management

Price Tiers is not enabled for your store.

Check Qashier Marketplace or contact Qashier Support.

"Price Tiers exceed 20"

You already have 20 tiers.

Delete or rename an existing tier.

"Please enter a unique tier name"

A tier with that name exists.

Choose a different name.

Cannot click the price field for a tier

The tier is switched off.

Switch it on in Manage Price Tier, then set the price.

The tier does not show on the POS

Its toggle is off, or it is a Buffet / Tiered Menu tier.

Switch it on. Menu tiers are used from the POS Menu Tier pop-up in Table Management instead.
