Service Hours let customers order a product on QR ordering or QashierKiosk only at set times, for example breakfast items in the morning and lunch items in the afternoon. The menu changes on its own at the times you set, so staff do not have to switch items on and off by hand.
Applies to: All markets · Set up in QashierHQ · Applies to QR ordering (Static and Dynamic QR, and Mobile Ordering) and QashierKiosk. Service Hours do not hide products on the cashier POS screen: staff can still sell every product at the counter.
Before you start
QR ordering, Mobile Ordering or QashierKiosk must be active for your store. The Service Hour button in QashierHQ only appears when QR ordering or Mobile Ordering is on.
To create Service Hours and assign them to products, see How to Set Up Service Hours for QR Ordering Products in QashierHQ.
How to set it up (summary)
In QashierHQ, go to Products & Inventory > Product Management and select your store.
Click Service Hour. Under Sections, click Add, enter a Section Name (for example "Breakfast") and click Confirm.
Select the section, then click each day and set its start and end times (for example 8:00 am to 12:00 pm). Days without times show Not Available.
Open each product that should follow a service hour, click Service Hours and assign it.
For the full steps, see How to Set Up Service Hours for QR Ordering Products in QashierHQ.
How availability works
No service hour assigned: the product can always be ordered.
Service hours are set per day of the week. On a day marked Not Available, the product cannot be ordered.
More than one service hour: the product can be ordered whenever the current time falls inside any of them.
Outside its service hours: customers cannot order the product on QR ordering or QashierKiosk.
Example: breakfast and lunch menus
Say you assign:
Breakfast menu items to a service hour from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Lunch menu items to a service hour from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Outside these times, breakfast and lunch items cannot be ordered on the QR menu.
What customers see
At 2:41 pm (within the lunch service hour), the QR menu shows the lunch items. Breakfast items and items from any other service hour cannot be ordered.
At 9:54 am (within the breakfast service hour), the QR menu shows the breakfast items. Lunch items and items from any other service hour cannot be ordered.
On Mobile Ordering, the menu editor in QashierHQ also marks each category as Within service hours or Outside service hours.
Delivery menus have their own hours
Service Hours in Product Management apply to QR ordering and QashierKiosk only. GrabFood menus have their own service hours. See How to Set Up GrabFood Menus and Service Hours in QashierHQ. For your QashierEats delivery and pick-up menu, see Getting Started with QashierEats Online Ordering in QashierHQ.
If something goes wrong
Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
The Service Hour button is missing in Product Management | QR ordering or Mobile Ordering is not active for this store | Check your QR ordering setup (Static vs Dynamic QR Ordering) or contact Qashier Support |
A product can be ordered outside its hours | No service hour is assigned to the product | Open the product, click Service Hours and assign one |
A product never appears on the QR menu | Its service hour has no time set for today, or the times are wrong | Check the days and times of the service hour in QashierHQ |
A product is still sold at the counter outside its hours | Service Hours do not apply to the cashier POS screen | This is expected. Only QR ordering and QashierKiosk follow Service Hours |
