Summary: How to set up the blue TP-Link Archer C20 (AC750) router supplied by Qashier, either as the router that creates your POS network (Router mode) or as a repeater that extends your existing shop Wi-Fi (Range Extender mode).
Applies to: Singapore · merchants who received a TP-Link Archer C20 (AC750) router from Qashier. Qashier now supplies the TP-Link ER706W router and the ASUS RT-AX53U extender; if you have one of those, contact support for setup help.
Which mode do I need?
Router mode (Option A): the TP-Link is cabled to your internet modem or fibre box and creates the Wi-Fi network that your POS and printers use. Choose this when the TP-Link is your main router.
Range Extender mode (Option B): the TP-Link repeats your existing shop Wi-Fi as a new network called "QashierPOS", for example to reach the kitchen. Choose this when you already have a working router and only need more coverage.
Before you start
Find the network name (SSID) and wireless password printed on the label on the back of the router. You need them to connect your phone or laptop to the router during setup.
Have a phone or laptop with a web browser.
For Router mode, have an Ethernet cable from your internet modem, fibre box or ISP router.
Option A: Router mode
Steps 5 to 12 are shown in the GIF below.
Connect an Ethernet cable from your internet modem or fibre box (or from a LAN port of your ISP router) to the Internet (WAN) port of the TP-Link router. Plug in the power adapter and switch the router on.
On your phone or laptop, open the Wi-Fi settings and connect to the TP-Link network using the SSID and password from the label.
Open a browser and go to tplinkwifi.net. This address only works while you are connected to the TP-Link Wi-Fi.
Create your own strong admin password and keep it somewhere safe. Qashier Support may ask you for it when helping you.
When Quick Setup opens, click Next.
Operation Mode: select Wireless Router, then click Next.
WAN Connection Type: select Dynamic IP, then click Next.
MAC Clone: select No, I do NOT need to clone my MAC address, then click Next.
Wireless band selection: untick 5GHz so that only the 2.4GHz network is broadcast. Qashier POS and Wi-Fi printers work best on 2.4GHz.
Wireless 2.4GHz: keep the default network name or change it to a name you will recognise. Note the Wi-Fi password shown on this page.
Wireless 5GHz: click Next.
Click Save. Give the router a few minutes to finish. Do not switch it off during this time.
Option B: Range Extender mode
Plug the TP-Link into power at the spot where you need better Wi-Fi coverage. No cable to your modem is needed.
On your phone or laptop, connect to the TP-Link Wi-Fi using the SSID and password from the label (the name looks like "TP-Link_XXXX").
Open a browser and go to tplinkwifi.net. If you are asked to create an admin password, choose your own strong password and keep it somewhere safe.
Open Quick Setup. Under Operation Mode select Range Extender and click Next.
The router scans for Wi-Fi networks. Select your shop Wi-Fi under the Connect column and click Next.
If the router also scans for 5GHz networks, click Next to skip this page.
Enter your current shop Wi-Fi password. At the bottom of the page select Customize and type QashierPOS in the Extended 2.4GHz SSID field.
Click Next without changing anything on the next page.
Click Finish.
The router restarts. After about 2 minutes, the "QashierPOS" network is available. Its password is the same as your shop Wi-Fi password.
What you should see
On Qashier POS, open the side menu (☰) and tap Wifi. Select your TP-Link network (Router mode) or "QashierPOS" (Range Extender mode) and enter its password. The POS should show that it is online.
Connect any Wi-Fi kitchen or label printers to the same network as the POS. See How to Set Up the Qashier Wi-Fi Kitchen Printer (Black) with Qashier POS.
If something goes wrong
Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
POS connects to the TP-Link Wi-Fi but has no internet (Router mode) | The WAN cable is not connected, or the modem is offline | Check the Ethernet cable is in the Internet (WAN) port. Restart the modem, then the router. |
Still no internet after restarting | Your internet provider needs a PPPoE login or other settings instead of Dynamic IP | Contact Qashier Support with your internet provider's details. |
The "QashierPOS" network does not appear (Range Extender mode) | The router is still restarting, or the shop Wi-Fi password was typed wrongly | Wait 2 minutes. If it still does not appear, repeat Option B and re-enter the password. |
Cannot see the TP-Link Wi-Fi at all | The router is off or still starting up | Check the power light and wait 2 minutes. The network name is printed on the label. |
