Summary: Let a product be sold in fractional quantities such as 0.5 or 1.25 by turning on decimal quantity for your store in QashierHQ, then for each product. Useful for items sold by the half portion, the metre or the scoop.
Applies to: All markets · QashierHQ (the same product checkbox also appears in the Qashier POS product editor once the store setting is on) · an account with access to Settings and Product Management.
Before you start
If your store uses the Shopify, WooCommerce or Ingredient Management add-ons, contact Qashier support before turning on decimal quantity. While decimal quantity is on, Qashier Marketplace shows a contact-support option for these add-ons instead of switching them on directly.

Step 1: Turn on decimal quantity for your store
Log in to QashierHQ and click the Settings (gear) icon at the top of the page.
Under Store, click Additional Settings, then Product Settings.
Tick Enable product quantity with decimal value. The setting saves as soon as you tick it.
Step 2: Turn on decimal quantity for a product
In the left menu, under Products & Inventory, click Product Management, then choose the store.
Select the tab, click the category, then click the product. The Edit Product dialog opens.
Expand Advanced Settings (it is collapsed by default).
Tick Quantity in Decimals.
The Decimal Places field now appears higher up in the dialog, above Advanced Settings. Choose 1, 2 or 3. Examples: 1.1, 4.32, 3.210.
Click Confirm.
To set this on a new product, tick the same box under Advanced Settings in the Add Product dialog.

What you should see
On Qashier POS, the Quantity box for that product accepts a decimal, for example 0.25 or 1.5, up to the number of decimal places you chose. The POS product editor (☰ > Manage Products) also shows the Quantity in Decimals checkbox once the store setting is on, so you can switch it on there too.
If something goes wrong
What you see | Cause | What to do |
