How to Set the Queue Number Range and Prefix in QashierHQ and Reset the Queue on Qashier POS

Set the starting and ending queue number and an optional prefix in QashierHQ, understand how Qashier POS hands out and restarts queue numbers, and reset the queue from the POS menu.

Summary: Queue numbers give every paid order a number that customers can watch for, such as A101. In QashierHQ you set the starting number, the ending number and an optional prefix; Qashier POS then hands out the next number with each sale and starts again from the beginning when the ending number is reached. On the POS you can reset the queue to the starting number at any time.

Applies to: All markets · F&B stores where Qashier has switched queue numbers on for the store · QashierHQ (Settings > Basic Settings) and Qashier POS. A QashierHQ user needs access to Settings.

Before you start

  • Queue numbers are switched on per store by Qashier. If the Queue & Pager section described below is missing from your store settings, contact support to have queue numbers enabled.

  • The LED queue display (call pad and number display) is separate hardware: staff key the number into the call pad by hand. See How to Set Up and Use the LED Queue Display (Call Pad + Number Display).

  • One queue counter is shared by all Qashier POS devices in the store, so numbers stay in sequence across terminals as long as the devices are online.

Set the queue number range and prefix in QashierHQ

  1. Log in to QashierHQ. Click the Settings (gear) icon at the top right. On a phone-sized screen, tap your account icon and choose Settings.

  2. Open the Basic Settings tab. If you have more than one store, pick the store first.

  3. Scroll down to Queue & Pager.

  4. Enter the Starting Queue Number, for example 101.

  5. Enter the Ending Queue Number, for example 999. It must be higher than the starting number. If you fill in one field, you must fill in the other.

  6. Optional: enter a Queue Number Prefix, for example A. The Preview line shows how numbers will look, such as A101 - A999.

  7. Optional: tick Enter Pager Number on POS if you also hand out pagers and want the POS to ask for the pager number at checkout.

  8. Click Submit.

If no range has been saved, the POS uses 101 to 999.

How the queue number is given out on Qashier POS

  • When a sale is paid, the payment-complete screen shows the queue number with its prefix, for example A 101. The next sale gets A102, and so on.

  • The number is printed on the receipt as Queue No. and on the order chit as Queue, and appears on the Kitchen Display (KDS) tile.

  • After the ending number is used, the next sale starts again from the starting number.

  • For a split bill, every part shows the same queue number; the counter moves on to the next number only after the last part is paid.

  • An order placed through Treats ordering and paid at the counter keeps its own order number instead of taking a new queue number.

Reset the queue to the starting number

  1. On the POS home screen, tap the ☰ menu.

  2. Tap Reset Queue. This item only appears when queue numbers are switched on for the store.

  3. The POS asks Confirm reset queue number? This will make the queue number become the starting number: 101 (with your own starting number). Tap Confirm.

  4. You see Queue has been reset. The next sale gets the starting number.

Many stores reset the queue at the start of each day so the first order of the day is the starting number.

What you should see

  • In QashierHQ, the Preview line under Queue & Pager shows your prefix and range.

  • On the POS, the queue number on the payment-complete screen, receipt and order chit follows the range and prefix you set. Changes made in QashierHQ reach the POS after its settings refresh; restart the POS app if the old range is still used.
