How to Set Up Mobile Ordering (Treats Ordering) in QashierHQ

How to enable, configure, and use the Treats Ordering (Mobile Ordering) feature — covers menu setup in HQ, promo banners, combos, Treats loyalty integration, and the POS experience.

Summary: Mobile Ordering (also called Treats Ordering) lets customers scan a QR code at the table or counter, browse your menu on their phone at order.treats.app and place an order that goes straight to your Qashier POS. This article shows how to get it enabled and how to set up the menu, QR codes and payment options in QashierHQ.

Applies to: QashierHQ (setup) and Qashier POS (receiving orders). Available on stores where Qashier has enabled Mobile Ordering; ask Qashier to add it to your plan. Pay online also needs an approved Online Payment account (Singapore and Malaysia).

Before you start:

Step 1: Get Mobile Ordering enabled

  1. In QashierHQ, go to Products & Inventory > Mobile Ordering.

  2. Select your store from the store picker at the top of the page. Until you select a store, the page shows the Mobile Ordering introduction.

  3. If Mobile Ordering is not enabled for that store yet, the introduction stays on screen. Click I'm interested. This opens a chat with Qashier asking to add Mobile Ordering to your plan.

  4. Once Qashier has enabled it, the page shows three tabs: Menu Management, QR Settings and Payment Settings.

There is no Mobile Ordering switch on the POS. The POS picks up the setting automatically once Qashier enables it for your store.

If Mobile Ordering does not appear in the QashierHQ sidebar at all, none of your stores has it enabled yet: contact Qashier support.

Step 2: Build your ordering menu (Menu Management)

The ordering menu is separate from your POS menu. Names, descriptions and images you change here do not change the POS or Product Management.

  1. Open the Menu Management tab.

  2. Under Categories, click Manage categories, tick the categories to show on the ordering page and click Save.

  3. To change how a category looks, click Edit Category on it. You can set a customer-friendly Name and Description (the name defaults to the original) and switch Visible on menu off to hide it. Click Save.

  4. In a category, click Manage Products, tick the products to show and click Save.

  5. To change how a product looks, click Edit Product. You can change the Name, Description and image, and tick Dine in and Takeaway to control where it can be ordered. Takeaway can only be ticked once Takeaway is turned on under QR Settings > Order Type. The price comes from Product Management and cannot be changed here. Click Save.

  6. Use Hide and Show on a category to take it off the ordering page without deleting it. To hide a single product, click Edit Product and untick both Dine in and Takeaway. Hidden items stay available on the POS.

  7. Drag categories and products to change their order.

  8. Check the Live Preview panel on the right. It updates as you edit.

  9. Click Publish in the bar at the top of the menu and confirm. Menu changes go live only when you publish. Until then your edits are saved automatically as a draft (the bar shows Last saved at). Discard deletes the draft and returns to the last published version.

Combos: create the combo in Product Management first, then add it to a category with Manage Products. Its choice groups and items come across with it. On the ordering menu you can rename the combo, change its description or image, hide items and reorder the choice groups. You cannot create a combo or set its price here.

Step 3: Add a promotional banner (Top Banner)

  1. In Menu Management, find Top Banner and click Add slides.

  2. Upload an image and crop it, enter a Title and Description, then click Save.

  3. Add more slides if you want a carousel. Drag slides to change their order. Use the icons next to each slide to Edit Details, Hide, Show or Delete it.

  4. Click Publish.

Step 4: Set up your QR codes (QR Settings)

  1. Open the QR Settings tab.

  2. Under QR Code Mode, choose Static (a fixed QR code per table) or Dynamic (a new QR code for each order). Switching the mode clears all pending on-hold and live table orders, and customers who are browsing lose their session and must scan again. QashierHQ asks you to confirm with Switch and Clear Orders. Do this during a quiet period.

  3. Under Order Type, tick Dine in, Takeaway or both.

  4. Table Auto-Activation (Static QR only): when this is on, a table opens on the POS as soon as a customer scans its QR code. You still close the table manually once it is cleared.

  5. If your store uses Table Management, the Table Management section shows whether your tables are synced. Click Edit Table Layout to set up your tables. If it shows Tables need sync, click Sync Now.

  6. Static QR only: click Generate QR Codes. The codes appear under Dine-in & Table QR. For each table you can Download QR or Copy URL; Download All gets every table at once. Print the codes and place one on each table. In Dynamic mode there are no table codes to generate here.

  7. Regenerate QR Codes replaces every table QR code. The old codes stop working, so reprint them all.

  8. Takeaway QR & Link appears once Takeaway is ticked under Order Type. It is a separate, permanent QR code and link for takeaway orders, in both QR modes, and it is not affected when you regenerate table codes. Click Download Takeaway QR to print it, or Copy URL to share the link. Click the Takeaway availability icon, set the Opening time and Closing time and click Save hours. Customers can only order takeaway inside this window.

Step 5: Choose how customers pay (Payment Settings)

  1. Open the Payment Settings tab.

  2. Under Dine-in QR, tick Pay at counter (the customer orders, then pays at the counter) and/or Pay online (the customer pays before the order goes to the kitchen).

  3. Under Takeaway QR & Link, tick Pay at counter (pay when collecting) and/or Pay online. Takeaway itself is turned on under QR Settings > Order Type.

Pay online needs an approved Online Payment account. Until then the option is greyed out. Click Click here to apply, or go to Sales Channels > Online Payment in QashierHQ.

Treats points on the ordering page

  • Customers can order as a guest, or log in with their phone number (a code is sent by WhatsApp, Viber or SMS). The ordering page prompts "Login now to earn points with your order!" and, in the cart, "Login to unlock rewards".

  • Logged-in customers see the cashback and Treats points they will earn on the cart page, based on the cashback rate you set in Treats.

  • Guest orders earn no points and are not linked to a customer profile.

  • Keep the customer attached to the order on the POS until payment is complete, so the points are credited.

How orders reach your POS

  • Each order appears on the POS automatically. Staff do not re-key anything.

  • If the customer logged in, their Treats profile is attached to the order.

  • Pay at counter: take payment on the POS as usual (cash, card or QR).

  • Pay online: the items arrive marked Paid item. Use Clear Served to clear served paid items and Close Table when the table is done. A paid item cannot be voided or discounted on its own; to reverse it, void the whole transaction from the transaction records.

Click Edit Product, tick the order type, Save and Publish.

A table QR code no longer opens the menu.

The QR codes were regenerated.

Download and reprint the new codes from QR Settings.

The order was placed as a guest, or the customer was removed from the POS order before payment.

Ask customers to log in before ordering; keep the customer attached until payment is done.
