Qashier Soundbox – Configuration Guide

The Qashier Soundbox is a smart voice device that announces payment confirmations in real-time. This guide will help you configure your Soundbox to match your store setup, including naming the terminal, entering the correct serial number, and selecting the preferred announcement language (English, Malay, or Chinese).

Accessing Soundbox Settings

  • To configure your Qashier Soundbox:

    • Tap the gear icon (⚙️) at the top-right corner of your QashierPOS screen.

    • Go to “Soundbox Settings.”


Naming Your Soundbox

  • You can personalize your Soundbox settings to help identify devices across stores:

    • Soundbox Store Name: Helps you identify stores when viewing reports in the QashierHQ portal.

    • Terminal Display Name: This name will appear on the Soundbox screen.


Entering the Serial Number

  • Find the Serial Number on the label at the back of the Soundbox.

  • Input it in the “Serial Number” field.

  • Click “Save” to apply changes.

If the serial number is incorrect or missing, an error will be shown on the Soundbox screen.

Setting the Soundbox Language

  • The Soundbox can announce payment confirmations in:

    • English (default)

    • Malay (requires version V1.0.7-2024051001 or above)

    • Chinese (requires version v1.0.5 or above)

To check your version: Press the “M” button on the Soundbox.


Change Language via QashierHQ:

  • Log in to QashierHQ Portal.

  • Navigate to Settings > Soundbox Settings.

  • Under “Soundbox Language,” select your preferred language.

  • Click “Save.”

⚠️ Only one language can be active at a time.


Language Announcement Formats

Chinese Format

For the Chinese language, the payment confirmation announcement will be announced in the following format:

收款 ABCD 十 点 E 令吉

Formulation:

  • A 万: Tens of thousands (where A is the number of ten thousands)

  • B 千: Thousands (where B is the number of thousands)

  • C 百: Hundreds (where C is the number of hundreds)

  • D 十: Tens (where D is the number of tens)

  • 点: Decimal point

  • E 令吉: Ringgit (where E is the number of cents, pronounced after the decimal point)

For example:

  • RM 1.00 = 收款一点零零令吉

  • RM 12.35 = 收款十二点三五令吉

  • RM 40.40 = 收款四十点四十令吉

  • RM 345.67 = 收款三百四十五点六七令吉

  • RM 1,234.56 = 收款一千二百三十四点五六令吉

  • RM 20,000.50 = 收款二万点五零令吉

Malay Format

For the Malay language, the payment confirmation announcement will be announced in the following format:

Terima P ribu Q ratus R puluh ringgit S sen

Formulation:

  • P ribu: replace P with the number of thousands (e.g. 1 ribu, 2 ribu, etc.)

  • Q ratus: replace Q with the number of hundreds (e.g. 1 ratus, 2 ratus, etc.)

  • R puluh/belas: replace R with the number of tens, or use "belas" for numbers between 11 and 19 (e.g. 2 puluh for 20, 3 belas for 13, etc.)

  • Ringgit: The Malaysian currency term

  • S sen: Replace S with the number of cents (will be omitted for zero value)

For example:

  • RM 1.00 = Terima satu ringgit

  • RM 12.35 = Terima dua belas ringgit tiga puluh lima sen

  • RM 40.40 = Terima empat puluh ringgit empat puluh sen

  • RM 345.67 = Terima tiga ratus empat puluh lima ringgit enam puluh tujuh sen

  • RM 1,234.56 = Terima seribus dua ratus tiga puluh empat ringgit lima puluh enam sen

  • RM 20,000.50 = Terima dua puluh ribu ringgit lima puluh sen
