SG|MY How to Use Qashier Soundbox

The Qashier Soundbox is a smart voice notification device that helps merchants confirm real-time QR payments. It supports both static QR and dynamic QR for GrabPay.

Using Qashier Sounbox

Static QR Mode (Default Mode)

  • Take the Order

    • Use the Qashier SuperTerminal to key in the customer’s order.

  • Customer Scans QR Code

    • When the order is confirmed and ready for payment, show the static QR code on the Soundbox screen. The customer will scan it using their e-wallet or banking app.

  • Customer Enters Amount

    • The customer will enter the total amount to pay in their app and confirm the payment.

  • Payment Confirmation

    • Once the payment is successful:

    • The Soundbox will announce the amount received aloud.

    • The amount will also be shown on both the front and back display screens.

    • The approval screen will be displayed for 3 seconds before returning to idle.

With GrabPay and Alipay+ enabled on the Qashier Soundbox, merchants can now accept payments from international tourists, helping boost sales, reach more customers, and grow their business—especially in tourist-heavy areas.

  • Take the Order

    • Use the Qashier SuperTerminal to key in the customer’s order.

  • Enter the Amount

    • The staff keys in the total amount on the Soundbox keypad.

  • Generate and Show Dynamic QR

    • A Dynamic QR code will appear on the screen.

      • 🕒 Note: The dynamic QR code is valid for 5 minutes.

  • Customer Scans and Pays

    • The customer scans the QR code using their preferred e-wallet or banking app to complete the payment.

  • Receive Confirmation

    • Once payment is successful:

    • The Soundbox announces the amount aloud.

    • A confirmation message appears on the screen.

Voiding transactions made via Qashier Soundbox

If you need to void any transactions that were made via the Qashier Soundbox device, you can only void the transaction via the QashierHQ portal. Please refer to this article for more information: How to void a transaction in QashierHQ

After the transaction has been voided, you will have to refund the amount back to the customer via cash as the voided transaction cannot be automatically refunded back to the customer's bank account.


How to check your sales balance on the Qashier Soundbox

  • Currently, you can easily view your sales information through the Qashier Soundbox device, this is also included the last five transactions details.

    • To view the transactions, you are able to follow the below step

    • On the back of the Soundbox, press F1.

    • Today's sales balance and the last 5 transactions will be shown on the front screen.

    • Press F1 or F2 to scroll down or up.

    • The Soundbox will return and display your PayNow QR code after 10 seconds of inactivity.


Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Common Soundbox Issues

Here are detailed steps to address common issues with the Qashier Soundbox:

1. When no sound is heard during payment announcements

  • Restart the Soundbox: Power down the device and turn it back on. This often resolves temporary issues.

  • Turn up the volume: Confirm that the volume is not muted or too low by adjusting volume settings.

2. When a transaction is not detected or announced

  • Check the network stability: Ensure a stable internet connection. Reconnect the Soundbox if necessary.

  • Re-attempt the transaction: Once the network connection is verified, ask the customer to reinitiate the payment.
