Overview
Qashier rolled out exciting new features to the Qashier Kitchen Display System (KDS) that are designed to help busy kitchens work faster and smarter. Whether you’re running a quick-service restaurant (QSR) or a food court stall, these updates make it easier to track, prepare, and serve orders efficiently.
1. Order Summary Sidebar (NEW)
A game-changer for kitchen staff!
✅ Located on the right side of the KDS screen (collapsible)
✅ Shows total product quantity across all open orders
✅ Helps you quickly see how many items to prep (e.g., “6 Pork Burgers”)
✅ Tap on a product to highlight it across all orders in yellow
✅ Tap again to remove highlight
✅ Sidebar opens by default when KDS is launched
2. Refreshed Order Tile UI
A cleaner, more intuitive display to help you focus.
✅ Sleeker card design with modern fonts and improved spacing
✅ Tiles now have background colors based on order age:
🔴 Red – Overdue (15+ mins)
🟡 Yellow – Mid-age (5–15 mins)
🔵 Blue – Fresh (<5 mins)
✅ Clear display of order time, wait time, and order type (Dine In, Takeaway)
3. Third-Party Platform Integration
Now with visual tags!
✅ Orders from GrabFood or Foodpanda now show mini logos next to the order type
✅ Helps identify external orders at a glance
4. Improved Completed Orders View
Finding finished orders just got easier.
✅ New tile-style layout (same as active orders)
✅ Access via the “Completed Orders” button in the sidebar
✅ Each tile has a green background to indicate completion
✅ A label “VIEWING COMPLETED ORDERS” appears at the bottom-left for clarity
WDS Enhancements
All visual improvements and sidebar updates are now also available on WDS (Waiter Display System).
✅ Same look, feel, and functionality as KDS
✅ No changes to logic or flow
✅ What Hasn’t Changed
🟩 Tile display logic remains the same
🟧 Time thresholds for tile colors (e.g., red = 15 mins+) are unchanged by default
🖨️ Print and Done buttons work exactly as before
