Table Management Timer

Overview

Table Management now has a timer feature, designed to enhance table service efficiency for Qashier merchants. This new functionality allows merchants to set timers that either count up or count down, streamlining operations and improving the customer dining experience.

  • Intuitive Visual Feedback: Helps both customers and staff easily track the remaining time.

Key Features

  1. Two Timer Modes for Enhanced Control

    1. Count-Up Timer: Displays the elapsed time since the timer started.

    2. Count-Down Timer: Merchants can set a default countdown duration, which can also be adjusted per table.

  2. Seamless QR Ordering Integration

    1. Fully compatible with both dynamic and static QR codes.

    2. Customers can place orders through the QR system until the countdown timer reaches 00:00.

    3. Once the timer expires, customers can no longer add new items to their order for that table.

Even after the countdown timer expires, POS staff can still manually add items to the order, ensuring uninterrupted service.

3. Visual Time Indicators for Staff and Customers

The countdown timer changes color to provide a clear visual cue:

  • White: Default state.

  • Orange: Final 15 minutes.

  • Red: Timer expired (00:00)

  • To activate this feature, please contact the Local Qashier Customer Support team and request the activation of the timer feature for table management.

How to Use

  • QR Ordering

    • The timer begins as soon as the table is activated.

    • For countdown timers, customers will see the remaining time displayed on the QR ordering page.

    • If the timer reaches 00:00, the QR ordering system will restrict new item additions for customers.

    • No changes will be for count-up timers

  1. What happens if the timer is not set for a table?

    1. If no timer is set, the table functions as usual without time restrictions.

  2. Can staff extend the timer once the table is activated?

    1. No, there is no ability to extend or change the timer amount once the table is activated.

  3. Will the timer impact payments or order finalization?

    1. No, the timer only restricts new item additions through the QR system. Payments and finalization remain unaffected.

  4. Is the feature available for all merchants?

    1. Yes, this feature is available to all Qashier merchants using table management with or without QR ordering. As long as they are on the correct version code.

  5. How will it work for substores?

    1. To show the timer on the substore (i.e ordering tablet etc), internal teams will need to enable the setting in Internal Portal for that substore. Make sure that the timer type is the same to avoid any possible issues.
