How to Change the Keyboard Language on Qashier POS (Type in Chinese, Thai or Malay)

Add an on-screen keyboard language on your Qashier POS so you can type product names, customer names or notes in Chinese, Thai, Malay or another language. This changes only the keyboard. Applies to: All markets · Qashier POS on QashierXS, QashierX2 and QashierXL Slim · No PIN needed. The keyboard is part of the device's Android settings, so the screen names below are Android's, not Qashier's.

Before you start

These steps open the device's Android settings from the POS menu. If tapping Wifi shows only the Wi-Fi network list and there is no System option to scroll to, device settings are locked on your terminal. Contact Qashier Support to unlock them temporarily.

QashierXS and QashierX2

  1. On the POS home screen, tap the menu icon (☰) and select Wifi.

  2. Scroll down and tap System.

  3. Tap Language and Input, then Virtual Keyboard (on some devices called On-screen Keyboard).

  4. Tap Android Keyboard, then Languages.

  5. Turn off Use System Language to show the other languages.

  6. Turn on the language you want.

What you should see: a globe icon next to the space bar on the keyboard. Tap it to switch between English and the language you added.

QashierXL Slim

  1. On the POS home screen, tap the menu icon (☰) and select Wifi.

  2. Scroll down and tap Language & Input.

  3. Tap Languages.

  4. Tap + Add a language and choose the language you want.

  5. Press and hold the new language, then drag it above English to make it the default.

What you should see: open any screen with a text box, such as the product search, and the keyboard offers the new language.

If something goes wrong

Go back to Android Keyboard > Languages, turn off Use System Language and turn on the extra language.

The language you need is not in the list

The built-in keyboard does not include it
