QashierXS Setup: Unbox, Power On, Load Receipt Paper and Charge

Say HI to your new QashierXS

Unbox your QashierXS, turn it on, load the receipt paper, charge it, connect it to the internet and log in. The QashierXS is a compact all-in-one terminal with a single screen and a built-in receipt printer that runs the full Qashier POS.

You will need an internet connection to use the QashierXS. If you ordered online through QashierHQ, the terminal arrives pre-configured: turn it on, connect it and log in.

What you need

  • The QashierXS and its charger (in the box).

  • Receipt paper: 57mm x 35mm thermal receipt paper.

  • Your Wi-Fi name and password, or a SIM card with an active mobile-data plan.

  • Your QashierHQ login email address and password.

Turn on the QashierXS

  1. Press and hold the top button on the left side of the terminal until the screen lights up.

Insert or change the receipt roll

  1. Lift the lid above the screen by pressing in on both sides of the lid.

  2. Remove any remaining paper from the previous roll and any loose pieces.

  3. Hold the new roll so that the paper feeds from the top, and place it in the compartment with the paper exit towards the front.

  4. Close the lid, making sure the end of the paper comes out through the opening.

Run a test print

  1. Log in to the POS, then tap the ☰ menu at the top right of the home screen.

  2. Tap Test in-built printer.

  3. A sample receipt prints.

Charge the QashierXS

  1. Find the charging port under the power button on the left side of the terminal.

  2. Plug the USB-C connector of the charger into the charging port.

Connect to the internet and log in

When the terminal starts, it shows two buttons: Login and Connect to WiFi.

  1. Tap Connect to WiFi, choose your network and enter its password. If you prefer mobile data, insert a SIM card instead: see How to Insert a SIM Card into the QashierXS (White).

  2. Tap Login and enter your QashierHQ email address and password.

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish logging in. See How to Log in to Qashier POS.

Once you are logged in, you can change Wi-Fi network at any time from the ☰ menu > Wifi.

If something goes wrong

Symptom

Likely cause

Fix

The screen stays dark

The battery is flat

Charge the terminal for a while, then press and hold the power button again.

The test print is blank

The roll is loaded the wrong way round

Reload the roll so the paper feeds from the top with the exit towards the front.

Test in-built printer is not in the ☰ menu

You are not logged in yet

Log in first. The item appears on Qashier terminals once the POS is running.

Cannot connect to Wi-Fi

Wrong password, or the network is out of range

Re-enter the password, move closer to the router, or use a SIM card instead.
