There are 2 types of manual discounts that can be implemented on QashierPOS: preset discounts (set-up via QashierHQ) or custom discounts.

The discounts can be applied during the order as well as at table management mode. How to apply discount in Table Management mode will be detailed in a separate article here. When a discount has been added, it can be edited as well as removed, before payment is being made.

Below, we will show the different scenarios for applying a manual discount during the order.

1. Add a Manual Product Discount

When selecting a product, scroll down to the Available Promotion(s) (per item) section to view all preset discounts and custom discounts (where applicable.)

(Note: For products with a (discount excl.) annotation, it means the product is excluded from product and bill discounts. Refer to here for discount exclusions set-up and behaviour on POS)

Select a preset discount for the product to apply the discount.

After the preset discount is selected, the price for the product (not including modifier(s)' price) will be updated on the header. Do note that the discount is also applied to the modifier(s) that are selected.

When you add the product to the order, the discount will be indicated on the order.

To remove the preset discount, simply click on the <Preset Discount Name> button again, then click Save and the discount will be removed.

2. Add a Custom Product Discount

When selecting a product, scroll down to the Available Promotion(s) (per item) section to view all preset discounts and custom discounts (where applicable.) Instead of selecting a preset discount for the product to apply the discount, select the Custom Discount button.

Select the discount type (% or $) and key in the discount value. Click Confirm when you would like to apply the discount on the product accordingly.

After the custom discount is selected, the price for the product (not including modifier(s)' price) will be updated on the header. Do note that the discount is also applied to the modifier(s) that are selected.

When you add the product to the order, the discount will be indicated on the order.

To remove the custom discount, simply click on the Custom Discount button again, then click Save and the discount will be removed.

If you require a restriction on custom discounts being implemented by unauthorised personnel, speak with our team to have a Manager PIN in place.

3. Add a Manual Bill Discount

To add a manual bill level discount, click on the Add Bill Discount button.

At the Add / View Discount screen, select the <Preset Discount Name> that you would like to implement on the order. Click on the Add & Close button to add the bill level discount to the order and view the order.

The discount implemented will be shown on the Bill Discount section.

You can also check the bill discount amount by clicking on the Details button and referring to the Bill Discount section.

To remove the preset discount, simply click on the <Preset Discount Name> button again, then click Add & Close and the discount will be removed.

4. Add a Custom Bill Discount

When adding a bill level discount, instead of selecting a preset discount for the bill to apply the discount, select the Custom Discount button.

Select the discount type (% or $) and key in the discount value. Click Confirm when you would like to apply the discount on the product accordingly.

After the custom discount is selected, click Add & Close to apply the discount to the Bill Level.

The discount implemented will be shown on the Bill Discount section.

You can also check the bill discount amount by clicking on the Details button and referring to the Bill Discount section.

To remove the custom discount, simply click on the Custom Discount button again, then click Save and the discount will be removed.
